Your own personal professionalism and patience made the process of buying and planning the deployment across 21 secondary schools a much less arduous process that it might otherwise have been.

Firstly I would like to say a huge thank you for the work you have been doing with Mike.  His level of ability with the software has come on leaps and bounds since his initial training sessions with you earlier in the summer.  Not only is he a lot more skilled with the software’s capabilities, but he has also grown extensively in confidence which, coming from a teaching background myself, is something only the very best teaching staff are able to achieve.

My role within UK Skills and the Worldskills set up is as the training manager, which focuses on the overall picture of Mike’s training and preparation for competition rather than the extremely important technical training with Inventor.  Also having a background which is purely AutoCAD and Solidworks based, as well as Solidworks being the only parametric modelling software I teach on, has made is difficult for me to personally give Mike the knowledge base he will require to compete in Japan using Inventor.  It was therefore imperative that we, as UK Skills, and more importantly me as Mike’s training manager, started to build a network of specialist training partners to assist not only in the preparation for Japan 2007, but also Calgary 2009 and more importantly London 2011.  I am therefore hopeful that the training relationship being built up between UK Skills and Academia, through yourself, will continue to grow from strength to strength.
